While studying meditation I was introduced into Reiki. When it was suggested that my gallbladder be removed I refused and opted for an alternative solution, a gallbladder flush and Reiki. It worked! I have benefited from many Reiki treatments for a variety of ailments.

I have been working with Reiki since 2002.

About Reiki

Reiki was developed by Dr Miko Usui 1865-1926 who, after many years of study, discovered a way of accessing and using healing energy and passing on the ability to others.

Reiki is a natural hands-on therapy using 'universal life energy'.

The first syllable 'rei' means wisdom, knowledge, spirit or aura.

The second syllable 'ki' is the vital life force energy within and around all living things.

Reiki works with this vital force, much like acupressure, acupuncture, tai chi and yoga does but using its own unique methods.

'Ki' is channelled through the practitioner's hands into the client. It is more than a physical therapy, it is a holistic system of balancing and harmonising all aspects of the person - mind, body, emotion and well-being.

Reiki supports other treatments both conventional and complementary. It can often assist in reducing negative side-effects of medical treatment and medication. For example, it may:

- be useful when preparing for exams
~ boost the immune system
~ release toxins
~ encourage good circulation
~ improve digestion
~ calms the mind and emotions and
~ help to bring a person's whole being back into harmony and balance.

How I work with Reiki

During Pregnancy

Reiki is wonderful for pregnant women. It helps ease tensions in the body, relaxing the mother, and greatly benefiting the unborn child. It may help expecting mothers feel more connected and in touch with their babies.

For Children

Children usually love Reiki and often respond very quickly to it. Treatments may be shorter than they would be for an adult.

For Mental and Emotional Imbalance

Emotional problems such as anger, grief, anxiety, depression and fear respond well to Reiki, as do compulsive and addictive behaviour patterns. Reiki could be helpful in cases of drug and alcohol dependency.

Stress, Tension & Fatigue

Reiki works well on migraines, sleeping disorders, anxiety and high blood pressure that may be stress related conditions.

Accidents, Operations & Trauma

Reiki supports the body's natural healing processes, encouraging recovery from accidents, operations and traumatic experiences.

Pain

Reiki may relieve acute pain. Chronic, more deep-seated conditions may respond well but may need a series of consecutive treatments (e.g, four or more days in a row) to get to the root of the problem.

At the End of Person's Life

In the case of terminal illness, there may not be enough time to reverse the process of the disease. In such cases, Reiki may help enhance the quality of time left and bring peace and acceptance at the end of a person's life.

What happens during treatment?

For treatment, you will usually lie fully clothed on a treatment table, and experience the light touch of the practitioner's hands. You may feel a deep sense of relaxation, and may possibly become aware of heat, tingling, pulsation or other sensations.

Treatments last 30 or 60 minutes, most chronic conditions benefit from a course of treatment usually weekly or fortnightly. Your treatment options will be discussed at your initial consultation, however most people usually feel benefit and relaxed after one treatment. Please allow an extra ten minutes for the first appointment.

Gakkai (Reiki massage) 1 hour £40


Distant or Absent Healing 15 minutes: £15 or 30 minutes: £30

During this course Millie will attune you to Reiki in a way that enables you to use it for self-healing and to share it with others simply through touch.
You will learn the hand positions, the structure of a healing session, aura and chakra awarenss.
You will hear the story of Dr Usui's quest for this powerful gift that you will
begin to use in the second half of the day during the hands on practice sessions.
